Tim and Cara Ray
Tim and Cara both attended the University of New Mexico. Tim has a BS in Entrepreneurial Studies and Cara has an AA in Legal Assistant Studies from CNM, and is a graduate from the School of Ministry. Tim is a co-Principal of Premier Choice Mortgage which he started in 2002. They enjoy spending time with family, travel, fellowshipping with friends and especially good food. They feel so blessed to be a part of Oak Grove and are thankful for this schooling option for their family. They have four delightful children.
Jay and Leah Rush
Jay and Leah both hold bachelors degrees from Texas Tech University. Leah worked in secondary education at the middle school level before leaving the teaching field to stay home with their children. Jay attended Multnomah Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon. He provides for his family through the medical sales industry. They have four children, three biological and one adopted from Ethiopia in 2009. As a family they are extremely involved in their church, love to do outdoor activities and are avid Texas Tech Football fans. The Rushes have felt blessed to be a part of the foundation of Oak Grove, and value the opportunity to provide a classical Christian education for their children.
David and Anna Adkins
David and Anna Adkins have been married 18 years and have two children. Their daughter Abby will be a 10th grader at Oak Grove and their son, Ben, is entering the 7th grade. David is a small business owner, Executive Pastor at New Covenant Church and a State Representative serving the far westside of Albuquerque. Anna is the product buyer for one of their businesses, The Specialty Shop, as well as a cake decorating/candy making instructor at the store. Their children have been at Oak Grove for 3 years, before that they homeschooled full time. Oak Grove’s staff, faculty and coaches primary concern is the spiritual well-being of the students and the Adkins have been blessed to experience that firsthand. They are humbled and honored for the opportunity to serve on the board. David and Anna love the community of families and staff at Oak Grove and look forward to partnering to ensure that their children and future generations of Oak Grovers have the blessing of learning to love the Lord their God with all their heart, soul and mind and to love their neighbor as themselves (Matthew 22:37-38).
Matthew and Nikki Mulligan
Matthew and Nikki met while attending Colorado State University. Matthew received his BS in Construction Management at CSU, and after the couple moved to New Mexico, Nikki finished her studies at UNM and attained her BS in Psychology. Matthew is the President of HB Construction, and Nikki joyfully stays home with their 4 beautiful children and is actively involved in the community. They enjoy traveling (especially through the Rocky Mountains), going after new adventures and opportunities, and seeing God’s word applied throughout their lives and the lives of their children. They feel Oak Grove Classical Academy has been an answer to their prayers of a Christ centered education for their children. They are incredibly thankful to serve the school and advocate the blessing of a classical education that Oak Grove offers.
Miles and Angela Shiver
Miles has a Bachelor’s in Business Management and Angela a BA of Psychology, both from Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL, where they met. They have been blessed with four sons. Miles is the General Manager of Duke City Redi-Mix, and is involved in the concrete industry in Albuquerque by serving as the president of the New Mexico Redi-Mix Association. Miles is passionate about coaching, and he is blessed to be able to lead Oak Grove’s soccer team, seeking to show God’s character both on and off the field. Angela enjoys the privilege and responsibility of staying at home with their boys. She loves the opportunity to teach them while also seeing them flourish under the instruction of their Oak Grove teachers. They love Oak Grove’s community and classical focus and believe that Oak Grove has been an answer to their prayers regarding the hard decision on how to school their growing family. They look forward to partnering with the wonderful leadership of Oak Grove through their service on the board and cannot wait to see the school continue to grow into the place the Lord desires it to be.
